Weight pull
Weight pull has been great fun for competing in! It is also good for teaching pulling technique and gaining muscle ready for Winter working season.
MacKenzie has competed at Allerton 4 times of which he gained a leg towards his American title on each go, totaling his WWPD title. Denali attended practice sessions in novice class where you can attach a lead to guide them into the technique you require going all the way up to 1000 lbs.
Kebne and Glacier started training in October 2018. Kebne now has his WWPD in January 2024 and then became the first malamute to gain the WWPDI - the intermediate award!
Alpine had her first go in November 2018 but wasn't fussed, so we restarted in 2022, and has finished all four legs in March 2023 for her WWPD title. This is our first female of this level, and now she has all four basic titles!
Competitions are held at Brooksby Collage, once a month over the Winter season: October to May for Nordic breeds to enter. These are in conjuction with the Malamute club and the Canadian Eskimo club. Be there for weigh in by 9am, costs £5 per dog to enter that MUST be paid the night before. Pay and enter here:
